PIZZAS BY MARCHELLONI TAKES 2nd- ANNUAL 'PIZZA PIZZA COOK-OFF" CROWN

On July 19, 2018 Whole Life Services held its 2nd-Annual "Pizza Pizza Cook-off" under the big top at Quaker Steak and Lube in Sharon, PA. The event (now in its 2nd year) was held as a fundraiser to benefit Whole Life's Residential and Home & Community Habilitation Programs. Over 100 people attended and enjoyed sampling pizzas from local pizza shops, which included; Scotto's Pizza, Pizzas by Marchelloni- Hermitage, Tony's Pizza, Marco's Pizza, and Plaza Pizza.

Numerous area businesses also donated gift baskets and certificates that were given away VIA Chinese Auction which provided an opportunity for additional monies to be raised by

the agency. The turnout also included many agency-wide volunteers who helped out by selling tickets, serving pizza (along with other food and deserts), organizing the event, taking tickets, setting up/tearing down, and helping the evening run smoothly.

Holding this event (not only) provides a creative fund-raising opportunity, but it also provides a platform for people in the Shenango Valley to get to know WLS and what we are all about. An event like this also gives WLS Staff members and the Individuals/families that we serve an opportunity to socialize and get to know each other.

All participants were given a ticket with their admission to use to vote for their favorite pizza by the end of the evening. A panel of Judges were also on-hand to choose their overall favorite. When it was all said and done... Pizzas by Marchelloni- Hermitage was declared both the Crowd Favorite, as well as the Judges Favorite. Pizzas by Marchelloni- Hermitage's Tim Rea and Jaclyn Scilla graciously accepted the trophy, with a brief speech, stating that he had just came up with the specialty BBQ Baked Bean pizza that week and was hoping to get it on the menu in the near future.
