Celebrating Summer at Pymatuning State Park

A time was had last week at Pymatuning State Park! For the second year in a row, our WLS Crew was able to rent a couple of cabins for the week, and various individuals had the opportunity to go spend time exploring all that Pymatuning has to offer! Aside from engaging in fellowship with each other, attendees had opportunities to swim, fish, hike, and just explore nature.

Kayla spent 2 nights this year, and she REALLY enjoyed the water balloon fight that took place! She helped to make macaroni salad, and was a huge help when cleaning up. Her favorite meal though, was when they made cheeseburgers over the fire! The last night at the camp, Kayla went with a group to view the sunset from the beach. She said the sunset made her very happy. "It was a beautiful sight!" She also hunted for seashells with her friends, and ended up finding quite a few! She kept them as a souvenir, and really hopes her mom didn't put them in the washing machine with her pants. One of the big adventures she had was discovering a racoon in the nearby dumpster, which she fondly named Riff! Riff was very cute!

Michelle also spent a few nights, and was a big fan of the campfire cooked meals that they had each day. She reports,"I had a great breakfast with bacon, eggs, patty cakes (pancakes), and sausage!" Her favorite activity was sitting around the campfire and talking to all of her friends, and offering to throw her friends in the lake to cool them off!

This camping trip was partially sponsored by Mindi Jones, who also planned everything. She would like to thank all of the staff and volunteers who helped in taking care of the individuals, especially those who helped at meal times! We would also like to thank the Cooper Family for donating firewood, and for lending us their campfire cooking gear. Lastly we would like to thank all of YOU who support us throughout the year by attending our fundraisers and donating. Without your support, these opportunities for fellowship and enrichment would not be possible. Please enjoy some of the photos captured during our adventure below!
