Giving Back, One Blanket at a Time.

Darlene and Lorraine presented 42 handmade blankets to AWARE....one blanket for every bed in all the AWARE shelters in Mercer County. Accepting the blankets was Marise Wright, AWARE advocate. The blankets were made by Doreen Provens (of St. John's Episcopal Church) and her friends. Doreen also provided 30-plus blankets that were placed in donated suitcases as part of the Foster Love Project. Children in foster care in Mercer County will receive his/her own suitcase with a handmade blanket.
